The Frame Shoppe of Manhasset has been preserving the artwork, memorabilia and treasured photographs for Manhasset residents since 1990. Owner Al Trapani and staff, Deb Bassen and Ramona Janson have over 50 years of combined experience in the picture framing industry. Their expertise on the finer points of framing is only surpassed by their courteous and friendly approach to every customer that walks through the door. Whether it is a child's first painting or an antique masterpiece, the same level of service is provided. "We take a lot of pride in what we are doing." states Trapani. "We treat every piece as if it was going to be hung in our own home."
One of The Frame Shoppe's many specialties is the framing and preserving of memorabilia. This area is primarily handled by Deb Bassen. She will meticulously stitch down a sport's jersey or Christening gown or Grandma's needlepoint to the proper backing prior to fitting it into the perfect frame designed by the staff.
Of course this is just one aspect of The Frame Shoppe's abilities. They have framed war medals, coin collections, jigsaw puzzles, newspaper articles, well you get the idea. As Al has jokingly stated, "If it isn't breathing, we'll frame it."
Custom mirrors is also a very large part of their services. From simple informal wood to elaborate carved gilded frames, The Frame Shoppe is sure to provide you with what you are looking for.
In the spring of 2010 The Frame Shoppe introduced "Trapani Fine Art". Trapani established a gallery for local as well as regional original art. "It was a perfect fit for the store. We have had a few art shows with great success and the foot traffic to come in for the art has steadily increased." The art is on display year round and the pieces turn over regularly.
